Founded in 2009, Epoch Sports is a race and events production company produced by athletes for athletes. The name Epoch, pronounced (ˈe-pək, ˈe-ˌpäk), is defined as "A period in history or a person's life, typically one marked by notable events or particular characteristics." This is the ethos of the organization, to provide the most memorable experiences possible to all that attend their events. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or a first-time racer the professional Epoch events want to be a part of the athlete's life and memories. Currently, Epoch Sports holds a single event in the Northern California region at Black Butte Lake right outside Chico, CA. The Black Butte Triathlon is a two-day event featuring both Olympic and Sprint distance courses for both Mountain and Road Bikes. The event will take every year on the second weekend of June. Future Epoch Sports events plans are in the works for additional events in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
